This course is designed to help students understand and appreciate Deaf Culture and the Deaf Community. Deaf history, historical and modern-day perspectives, deafness and its impact, Deaf Culture/Community characteristics, education, communication modes/languages used by deaf people and the ramifications and impact of American Sign Language and Deaf Culture upon the lives of D/deaf people and other populations will be introduced. 3C/3/0/0
