PSYC 1750 - Introduction to Health Psychology

This course examines how psychological, social and biological factors interact with and affect individuals’ efforts to promote their own health and prevent or cope will illness. Topics include individual responses by gender, age and ethnicity, variations in health-related behaviors, stress and illness; whether and what kind of treatment individuals seek for health problems and whether they adhere to treatment recommendations; and the theories and methods used by psychologists to understand these issues. 3C/3/0/0

Prerequisite(s): READ 0721  or READ 0724  or EAPP 0860  with a grade of “C” or better or appropriate assessment score
