The English Transfer Pathway focuses on the English language, including its history, structure and related communications skills, and the literature and culture of English-speaking peoples.
Career Opportunities
Students who successfully complete the English Transfer Pathway will be prepared to transfer to a baccalaureate program in English. With a degree in English one can work in a number of fields within the government and education systems such as special collections librarians, archivists, museum work, and faculty at secondary and postsecondary institutions.
Program Outcomes:
- Students will use major critical frameworks to analyze literature.
- Students will define major periods, aesthetic trends, and historical developments in British and/or American literature.
- Students will analyze literature of historically under-represented populations.
- Students will apply discipline-specific knowledge of audience, rhetorical situation, and source documentation in writing texts.

Additional Requirements
- At least 60 earned college-level credits (40 MnTC credits and 20 additional MnTC, pre-major or elective credits)
- A grade of “C” or better in ENGL 1711
- Associate of Arts (AA) cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Meet Saint Paul College residency requirement: 15 credits.
