CSCI 1714 - Introduction to Data Science


4 Credits


This is an introductory course in the fundamental topics of data science: data architecture, data acquisition, data analysis and visualization, and data archiving. Practical techniques for working with large-scale data will be presented. Students will learn the use of analysis techniques to include summation of the date, using samples of data to make predictions about the larger context, and visualization techniques for presenting the results of data analysis. A significant portion of the course will focus on the migration of and analysis of the data using the R platform. 4C/4/0/0
