This course introduces English learners to academic reading skills at the high intermediate level. Students identify main ideas and details, use pre-reading strategies, and infer meaning in non-fiction and short stories. Students also build their vocabulary through the study of word parts, the academic word list, and dictionary skills. This is a required course. 5C/5/0/0
