ENGL 1725 - Introduction to Fiction Writing 3 Credits
In this writing course, students explore the writing process including invention, revision, and guided workshops to produce their own original creative work. Students analyze and critically evaluate classic, contemporary, and international fiction with attention to the elements of writing craft, techniques, and theory and apply knowledge of writing craft and theory to produce works of fiction and articulate an informed evaluative response to works of literature including those written by themselves and their peers. Course activities include writing exercises, reading, discussion, group work, workshops, and exploring current fiction writing trends and publication possibilities. 3C/3/0/0
Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1711 with a grade of “C” or better
