ENGL 2728 - Global Literature 3 Credits
This course introduces students to literature from cultures around the globe, from antiquity to the 21st century, in genres that may include epic poetry, drama, short stories, essays, and/or novels. Through close reading of texts, students explore ways in which literature works to both define and disrupt cultural and social discourse, and discover continuities and differences between cultures across history(ies). Structured thematically, the course may focus on such issues as globalization, identity construction, race and gender, and/or economic justice. 3C/3/0/0
Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1711 with a grade of “C” or better.
