MATH 1740 - Introduction to Statistics 4 Credits
This course covers concepts and applications of descriptive and inferential statistics. Measures of central tendency and variance, confidence intervals, normal distributions and central limit theorem are explored. The student learns about probability distributions and random variables. Techniques of estimation, hypothesis testing, z-scores, t-tests, F-tests, Chi-square tests, analysis of variance (ANOVA) and linear regression are covered in this course. This course can be used to fulfill the general education requirement for math, and transfer to 2 and 4 year institutions. 4C/4/0/0
Prerequisite(s): MATH 0740 or MATH 0910 with a grade of “C” or better or appropriate assessment score
